Heatmine is Using Unwanted Heat Waste to Warm Buildings

Largescale crypto-mining often generates egregious amounts of unused heat, but Heatmine, a crypto-mining start-up based in Quebec, hopes to address the issue while benefiting other businesses at the same time. This solution is brilliantly simple and essentially uses the unwanted heat waste to warm a hot water system to heat an entire building. This is accomplished through a custom-built device that uses the heat exuded from a rack of 63 GPUs to ensure a water tank is always hot.

Each of the Heatmine units are also equipped with a 3G data connection for remote management, as the units are installed outside of a customer's premises. The cabinets holding the mining units are also fully locked from the outside, which prevents tampering from other sources.
