The 'Heart of Hearts' Installation Celebrates Valentine's Day

The 'Heart of Hearts' exhibit is the latest addition to New York City's iconic Times Square. For the past eight years, the Times Square Alliance has chosen a romantic art installation to celebrate Valentine's Day. This year's winning design is a series of 10-foot tall golden hearts that adds a touch of romance to the popular tourist destination.

The Heart of Hearts exhibit was designed by the architectural collaboration Collective–LOK. The installation itself consists of twelve golden, mirrored hearts that create a type of pavilion in the middle of Times Square. Within the ring, there are six diamond-shaped kissing booths that provide a measure of privacy in the public space. The mirrored exterior of the hearts creates a kaleidoscopic effect that is intended to dissolve the boundaries between the act of viewing and performing.
