Creepy Insect Accessories

Hard Candy by Yan Rui is Inspired by Scary Stories and Rockers

Hard Candy by Yan Rui, a designer and professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, is a limited edition series of jewelry, paintings and silver objects that have been heavily influenced by such concepts as Eastern reincarnation as well as musical groups like Nine Inch Nails. Pulling from all sorts of different avenues, the line is creative and creepy.

Gothic in style, the pieces featured in the Hard Candy by Yan Rui may stem from a variety of influences but they complement each other beautifully. Inspired by all things scary, Rui reveals, "I loved Marilyn Manson and his dark world, Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails and their dark industrial atmospheres. Moreover, when I was a kid someone gave me a book of Brothers Grimm tales, so scary at that time but I loved it!"
