Cheetos Launches Immersive 'Hands-Free House' at SXSW in Austin

Cheetos has launched an immersive new pop-up experience at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, called the 'Hands-Free House.'

The new limited-time pop-up allows users to engage with a variety of touch-free devices, including voice-controlled appliances, smudge-proof phones, and hands-free vending machines. The concept for the immersive house riffs on the idea of having one's fingers covered in orange 'Cheetle' dust; a playful notion that is also central to Cheetos broader marketing campaign. In addition, once guests have moved through the house, they will be able to enjoy a backyard BBQ where they can network with brand reps and other visitors.

Overall, Cheetos' new experiential pop-up allows users to engage with the brand in a novel and memorable way that will likely result in an uptick in user-generated content via social media. The 'Hands-Free House' will be open for total of three days, from March 12 to 15
