This Halloween Village Takes the Haunted House Experience to the Extreme

Even haunted houses are too much for some people to handle -- and now there's an entire haunted Halloween village just outside Montreal.

The Village d'Antan is a year-round tourist attraction located just outside the city of Montreal. It's a heritage reconstruction containing preserved antique buildings, including an old-fashioned schoolhouse, creamery, blacksmith and farm. In other words, it's normally a charming, quaint place overrun with visiting schoolchildren. Over the month of October, however, it becomes a bone-chilling, haunted Halloween village. The costumed performers who normally dress up as friendly settlers and authentic townspeople become ghastly ghouls and shocking ghosts. Every one of the town's ancient edifices becomes an individual haunted house, each one scarier than the last. It's an immersive Halloween activity designed only for the bravest of Halloween adventure seekers.
