This Halloween Kids' App Uses Halloween Themes to Teach Kids How To Spell

First Words Halloween is an ingenious Halloween kids' app that is essentially an educational word-building game that focuses on traditional Halloween objects and costumes to get kids' imagination going.

The objects and monsters depicted in First Words Halloween's picture interface are well-designed in that they capture the scary spirit of the Halloween season while still looking cute and harmless enough so as to not traumatize young kids. A good example of this is a spider wearing a pink bow tie.

Words are then said letter by letter as they are dragged to the appropriate boxes. Smaller sets of words can be sounded out with phonics. This game is perfect for pre-readers and early spellers.

This Halloween kids' app is currently not available for Android or Windows smartphones, and can only be used with Apple devices. It is optimized for iPhone 5 and requires iOS 6.0 or later. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
