Floral Hair Ornaments

Japanese artist Sakae Creates Exquisitely Detailed and Delicate Accessories

Whether worn for one's big wedding day or just a special occasion in general, these hair ornaments are exquisite. Part of a Japanese tradition known as kanzashi, they are made out of resin and delicate brass wire. Forming detailed flowers that are full of vibrant color, there is something truly whimsical about these hair ornaments.

Created by Sakae, a Japanese artist based in Narita City, the hair ornaments can take anywhere between three and 30 days to complete. Of course, these depends on how elaborate each design is. Unfortunately, her gorgeous hair ornaments don't go on sale often. If a person does manage to get their hands on one, it will be an accessory to pass down to ancestors.
