The 'Off The Street' Gum Wheel Initiative Makes Use of Waste

Chewing gum is notorious for ending up on our sidewalks and streets, so the 'Off The Street' gum wheel initiative has been created to help make use of this seemingly useless waste material. The initiative was conceptualized by Hugo Maupetit and Vivian Fischer through an imagined collaboration with Vans and Mentos that would see gum boards placed around urban or community locations. This would encourage gum chewers to stick their used pieces on it to be collected for transformation into skateboard wheels of various hardness levels.

The 'Off The Street' gum wheel initiative would feature the eye-catching gum boards with a 2D sketch of a character with an empty head space where gum could be placed to further enhance its collaborative design.
