JBL Quantum Introduces the Inclusive Guide Play Feature

JBL Quantum develops a new tool supported by AI technology dubbed Guide Play. It was developed to help gamers who may be visually impaired by guiding them through virtual environments. The audio tech company presents the software by leveraging artificial intelligence to translate visual signs and give those who are visually impaired a boost in video games.

This is developed with the help of the nonprofit organization AbleGamers and electronics company Harman. The Guide Play tool is not a filter as it relies on Spatial Audio and head-tracking to replicate echolocation, guiding players to be able to form a mental map of the virtual space. This way, they can intuitively understand the location through sound for a more immersive gaming experience.
