Originally hailing from San Francisco, Bellah now divides her working life between Barcelona and Amsterdam. Though she's a photographer, Bellah's first love was painting, a medium that she attempts to reflect in her images. She explains, "I have always strived to give my photographs an ethereal feel that would usually be reflected in paint. I am inspired by the Pre-Raphaelites and the subtle sensuality, rich color and narrative of their portraits."
Bellah hopes that looking at her photographs gives the viewer a sense of the story behind it. In the case of this grungy editorial, she showcases a narrative of emotional transparency and strength. Charlotte Mailhe was responsible for Justine's hair and makeup, while Suze Kuit styled the shoot.
