At first glance, the Greta Pendent Lamp may look like a basic light fixture with a playful design. Upon further inspection, however, it becomes quickly apparent that the design is not only playful, but extremely practical as well. Designed by Karin Wallenbeck, John Astbury and Bengt Brummer of Whatswhat for a school project, the Greta Pendent Lamp boasts an easily manipulated fan-like aesthetic that encourages people to open or close it at whim. According to the designers, "The inspiration came from the concept of potential energy about movement and rest--how we can change not only the character of the lamp but also the light it emits through motion."
