Starbucks Japan's Refreshing Beverage Combines Green Tea and Appple

Since last spring, Starbucks has been adding new creations to its Japan Wonder Project, which spotlights Japanese ingredients—one of the newest additions to this project is a refreshing beverage that combines the taste of green tea and apple. The Teavana Frozen Tea Kaoru Green Tea x Green Apple highlights sencha, an especially aromatic type of green tea that's made from tea leaves that are constantly exposed to direct sunlight for the duration of their growing cycle. As such, sencha green tea is known for its high Vitamin C content and tannins, creating a distinctive sharp taste.

Alongside featuring green tea from Japan, the new Starbucks drinks contain apple juice made from green apples that come from Italy. The refreshing Teavana Frozen Tea Kaoru Green Tea x Green Apple is finished off with two additional ingredients from Japan: green perilla and sansho Japanese pepper.
