Clever Wordplay Heart Graphics

Jaco Haasbroek Designs Clever Graphic Hearts in His I Heart Series

Jaco Haasbroek’s ‘I Heart’ series uses clever wordplay in its design of many graphic hearts.

Jaco Haasbroek's designs are sometimes clever, sometimes hilarious but always intriguing. A lot of the wordplay is fairly straightforward; for example his in his "I Heart Pixels," the heart is made to look like it's composed of pixels, the same principle holds true for his "I Heart Connect-The-Dots" designs and his "I Heart Negative Space" design. The "I Heart Tin Man" requires prior knowledge that the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz has no heart in order to grasp the design and in his "I Heart Sunsets" graphic, the heart is only half drawn to give the illusion that it’s setting.

This clever design suddenly makes me realize my "I Heart New York" shirt does seem as great.
