So rich are a few of Abu Dhabi's citizens that the city unveiled a gold dispensing ATM in the luxury Emirates Palace. The gold dispensing ATM takes cash in return for up to 10 grams of gold coins.
On the day of the unveiling gold hit a record high on the stockmarket costing more than $1,245 an ounce. Why someone would want to turn their cash into gold is beyond me, but the fanfare generated by the gold dispensing ATM has me believing that the people of Abu Dhabi might just start cashing in.
