Unlike no other vases, the Glithero Silverware collection was decorated using very unique materials.
The surface of the vases created by Anglo-Dutch design duo Glithero is covered in a coating of photosensitive silver salt particles. In order to get the beautiful silvery textured stripes and patterns all over the collection, a natural element came in to play. Strips of seaweed from the English Channel were arranged in interesting patterns, and then the vases were exposed to light. Everything except for the area under the seaweed was exposed and turned black, leaving behind the organically shaped designs that are truly unique to this collection.
