Icon-Emulating Kids Photography

Eunique Jones' Snaps Kids Dressed Up as Icons for Girl Empowerment

Photographer Eunique Jones has created a series called 'Because of Them, We Can' to promote equality and girl empowerment. He recently dressed up children as historically important African Americans for Black History Month, but now expanded his project to portray a wide range of great women in history.

Children tend to love playing dress-up, so this project was a fun and equally educational way to send a message to young girls. They dressed up as females who made significant contributions to the world, including Mother Theresa, Frida Kahlo and Hilary Clinton. This delightful photo series provides further inspiration with quotes from the icons displayed beside each girl's portrait.

Enrique is promoting young girls (in the word's of Hilary Clinton) to "Paint [their] own reality."
