Giftee Lets You Reward Your Followers With Real-World Gifts

Japanese tweeters who would like to show their followers a little more appreciation than just a retweet and a follow Friday recommendation can now use Giftee, a new gift-giving service. Giftee lets Twitter users send small gifts to their followers such as cups of coffee or flowers.

Unlike most social media gifting programs Giftee's gifts actually exist in the real world. To use the program, users need only to sign up and select a gift from any one of the participating shops. You can then pay for the gift with your credit card and send it to your lucky follower. The service has also opened its doors to charitable donations to the Japanese Red Cross and other aid organizations aiding in the Japan recovery effort.

This service is still just Japan-only, but like all good tech innovations it shouldn't be exclusive to the Land of the Rising Sun for long. Looks like I need to start stepping my Twitter game up.
