Getting Married at 1000 ft

Weddings on a (Biplane) Wing

A British couple, Darren McWalters, 24, and Katie Hodgson, 23, tied the knot from atop the wings of two biplanes flying side by side at 1000 ft.

Both were in full wedding regalia, the bride in a long billowing white strapless gown. Reverend George Bringham, 67, performed the wedding ceremony from the top of the third plane which flew slightly ahead. Jets of white smoke were fired from the back of the aircraft to complete the airborne festivities as can be seen on the amazing video.

All three were able to complete the wedding ceremony via an airborne communications system. Their grounded wedding guests could hear through loudspeakers playing throughout the RFC Rendcomb airfield, near Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

Why they decided on this unusual wedding was explained by the groom's statement, "We got engaged in the Brazilian rainforest and I wanted a wedding blessing that would top my proposal."

So there.
