The Gerardo Blumenkrantz Series is Bizarre

This ‘A Peak Into You and Me’ series by New York-based artist Gerardo Blumenkrantz is personal and uneasy. That is not a bad thing considering this is probably what the artist was going for. He describes his work as the "first Chapter of Drawings on the Wrong Side of the Brain." This isn’t to say there isn’t any levity to Gerardo Blumenkrantz’s illustrations, however.

There is a sardonic humor which pervades the series, providing some relief to scenes which would otherwise be quite dark. This speaks well for the artist. The ability to find something worthwhile in circumstances and people that most people would write off completely is definitely a talent.

In this series, Gerardo Blumenkrantz has demonstrated a sharp talent for making the grotesque viewable.
