Role-Playing Menswear

Thierry Mugler's Fall 2009 Collection Channels 18th-Century Costuming

Who says masculinity doesn’t mix with role-playing?

On the runway show of Thierry Mugler’s menswear for fall this year, the stage blossomed with outfits which seemed to have stemmed from of stories of 18th century nobles, Dracula, and Sherlock Holmes. One might also catch glimpses of Chuck Bass and Edward Cullum in the persona of these clothes.

Nevertheless, this innovation with a modern touch of boldness and sleekness from the designer is another significant element of the garments, for which the materials used range from fur to leather.

These menswear pieces are so splendidly swell they make a girly woman like me want to slip them on. This was indeed a costume party.
