Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 will be Equipped with an Iris Scanner

Samsung's newest mobile device, the Galaxy Note 7, will feature security verification technology once reserved for science fiction films along the lines of 'Minority Report.' One of the key aspects of the as yet-to-be-released device is an infrared iris scanner capable of recognizing the device owner's unique "eyeprint."

The iris scan technology on the Galaxy Note 7 has two uses. Primarily, it will replace fingerprint scans or numeric codes as the entry point past the device's unlock screen. It will also be used in tandem with the 'Samsung Pass' app to create a more secure banking experience. The app and its iris scanning is already being used in partnership with several major banks, including Bank of America, Citibank and US Bank, to biomatch users to their correct accounts.
