Dutch designer Pauline van Dongen specializes in clothing with technological twists, and her new FysioPal top is no exception. The smart shirt contains sensors and pairs with a smartphone app to notify wearers about the quality of their posture (and even send alerts when they are slouching.)
Though the FysioPal top is stylish, it is meant to be worn as an undershirt thanks to its slim profile and lightweight materials. Through the use of sensors located along the neck, shoulders and back, the FysioPal takes regular measurements of wearers' postures, sending that information to the app. Further, the top will vibrate slightly if wearers slouch, encouraging them to adjust their position.
Working with textile make Schoeller, van Dongen managed to laminate the electronic directly into the material, eliminating the need for unsightly and uncomfortable wires.
