Customers of IKEA in Dubai are enjoying a lucrative furniture store discount -- the catch is, each deal is customized as per how long you've traveled to get to the destination. The program has cleverly been named 'Buy With Your Time' and IKEA will reference a Google Maps Timeline to determine how long it took each customer to get to its location. These minutes are converted into a furniture store discount, which makes for a quite interesting reward program.
Engadget has made some calculations to determine that an hour of travel will award someone approximately $28 in Dubai and a simple five-minute trip will be enough for you to get a delicious veggie hot dog.
Although applicable only in Dubai, IKEA has hinted at further expansion of the program.
