A Fleet of Eco-Friendly Trucks Fuelled By Glenfiddich Has Launched

Scottish whiskey maker Glenfiddich has launched a line of sustainable transport vehicles that run on whiskey, dubbing them trucks 'Fuelled by Glenfiddich.'

The converted trucks have been upgraded to run on green biogas produced by the company's whiskey waste byproducts. This innovative system is said to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by a whopping 99%, addressing the growing concern over the excessive burning of fossil fuels by large transport vehicles. According to the truck's designers, "the annual CO2e displacement of each truck will have the same environmental benefit as planting up to 4,000 trees every year."

The technology, which was created in-house, is the result of a broader sustainability initiative that is currently being deployed by the company. While this is great news for the planet, the launch of these vehicles doubles as an excellent advertising campaign for the brand, highlighting its corporate responsibility measures as well as its capacity for innovation.Photo Credits: designboom, glenfiddich
