This Frozen Pina Colada is Great for Beating the Summer Heat

A perfect way to cap off any hot summer day, this frozen Pina Colada can be replicated with only a handful of ingredients and some white rum.

Although the recipe specifically calls for Captain Morgan white rum, feel free to substitute your favorite. In addition to the spirit, you will need cream of coconut, pineapple juice, a large lime and four cups of ice. Fresh pineapple, maraschino cherries and shaved, toasted coconut also make for pretty and delicious garnishes. The rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice and lime juice is mixed in a blender, after which a few cubes of ice are added for additional blending.

This frozen Pina Colada is also a great version of the classic tropical cocktail to make on National Pina Colada day, July 10.
