Korean designer Hojoon Lim aims to improve crosswalk communication with the help of solar-powered four-way traffic lights. These use integrated solar paneling to harness energy from the sun's rays and won't be as sensitive to power outages and electrical malfunctions.
Using LED lights and a small laser signal receiver the new four-way traffic lights would be better suited to directing busy intersections than traditional crosswalk signals. Plus they have four faces with which to alert pedestrian and auto traffic.
