A new Ford car ad campaign called 'By Design' is giving fans of the brand the chance to create their own advertisements for the car company. To make the experience as easy as possible, content for the ads is generated through a tool on the Ford By Design website.

The Ford By Design site first has users select a city and choose between models like the Fiesta, Focus RS or even the Mustang GT 350. From there, customizations can be made to the background with colored chalk, smoke or fractal effects. After being submitted, these artworks have the chance to appear as digital billboards across major locations like New York City and San Francisco.

Beyond simply getting bragging rights from having a design chosen to be implemented by Ford, fans will receive a "billboard selfie" (a photo from a webcam located across from a billboard) as a unique memento for participating.
