Being a fan of both comic art and food, I was pleasantly intrigued by the new prints by food artist and illustrator Hawk Krall. His recent work depicts various vintage fast-food campaigns and slogans.
Philadelphia-based food artist and illustrator recently released a series of 10 prints depicting his love and fascination with comics, art and fast-food. The illustrations are typical of Krall, featuring detailed artwork, bright colors and eye-catching slogans. The series pays homage to the many "mom and pop" diners from coast to coast. Upon close examination, each print contains specific locations and subtle references to the region that inspired them. For instance, a famous sausage kitchen in Portland, Oregon named Otto's gets a nob in this series.
