Sang Hoon Kim Designs the Foam Series to Replicate Meteorite

Sang Hoon Kim is a designer based in South Korea and his latest furniture collection is the Foam Series. The way he approached this series replicates how he would model clay materials or draw images, which is without a formal concept. The furniture pieces are constructed from memory foam and boast a plethora of color to represent natural structures that can be found on craters. The memory foam used is developed using a chemical reaction of a selection of solutions, which include a polyol.

One of the polyol's unique aspect is its ability to customize the rations of chemical solutions to result in a suitable object for a selection of functions. Some pieces from the Foam series include bookshelves, nap chairs, sofas, meteorite ottomans, and foam carpets.
