UK Goes Sugar Glider Crazy

On the "cute pet" scale, this little gliding possum is off the charts. What can you say about a cuddly, curious, furry little guy with a pink nose, giant brown eyes that flies (OK, glides) around the house?

The Sugar Glider has a stretchy membrane between its legs that it uses to glide from tree to tree in nature in search of food and for quick escapes. It’s been in the US for a while now and is just now hitting the UK.

Important to note is that the Sugar Glider is not at all endangered in its native Australia, although it is illegal to keep as a pet there.

Sugar Gliders are nocturnal and are easily bored, so basically they’re party animals. They have a wide variety of vocalizations from chirps to barks and opposable fingers and toes which enable them to grab things adding to their remarkable acrobatic skills.
