Glacier Auditoriums

The 'Flower of the Steppe' by Studio Nicoletti

For those of you who are not familiar with the dombra, apparently the 'Flower of the Steppe' is shaped similar to it. A long-necked lute, which is a musical instrument.

Designed by Studio Nicoletti, 'Flower of the Steppe' is the name of the new Astana State Auditorium to be built in Kazakhstan (yes, Borat fans, Kazakhstan). Looking more like a landed glacier, it was actually inspired by the petals of a flower.
