The tech gurus over at Samsung and LG are prepping the next big thing in smartphone technology with their new foldable and flexible smart screens, which are expected to be commercially available before the end of 2013.
If you've ever dropped your phone and shattered the screen, this will definitely be the product for you. The new screens are being touted as "unbreakable" and when released, should be able to even bend and roll to users' desire and delight. The first model expected to hit the market will be called the Samsung Galaxy Skin, and is made possible by high-durability Organic Light Emitting Diodes, which are compact enough to be put into the new flexible plastic cases without sacrificing image quality or the touted flexibility. Not too far into the future, tech companies are also expected to provide flexible screens for televisions too.
Samsung is expected to show off their new flexible phones and screens at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas from January 8-11 in advance of commerical release before the end of the year.
