Smoked Cancer Stick Art

The Flavor + 3,450 Cigarettes Video Wants Viewers to Quit

I'm actually surprised there isn't more cigarette art like the piece featured in this Flavor + 3,450 Cigarettes video. After all, people have been using burned toast to craft some nifty masterpieces for awhile now; you'd think artists would have applied that same concept to cigarettes long ago.

The Flavor + 3,450 Cigarettes video documents the process of turning 3,400 cigarettes into the art installation known as 'Flavor.' Certain cigarettes were half-smoked to reveal the nicotine and create the contrast needed to spell out the word "Flavor." The project hopes to generate awareness against smoking and tobacco companies while using the same marketing tactics that tobacco companies use themselves. Now that's fighting fire with fire.

You can see the 'Flavor' installation piece at The Museum for the Printing Arts in Germany.
