Flat Granny by Jenny Fine Re-Animates a Lost Loved One

Paying tribute to lost loved ones has just taken an interesting turn thanks to the photo series titled Flat Granny by Jenny Fine, a photographer born in Enterprise, Alabama. Taking the loss of her grandmother hard, especially since the two of them were constant collaborators when it came to her photographic works, Fine decided that working together didn't have to end per se. Inspired by the Victorian tradition of post-mortem photography as well as the novel concept of a Flat Daddy, photographic cut-outs of deployed soldiers for their family while away at war, it involves a life-sized cardboard cut-out of her grandmother that was converted into a costume.
