The Firn Snow Shovel is Reduced in Parts to Celebrate Simplicity

The designers of the Firn Snow Shovel know that you don't need an overwhelmingly engineered object to enable you to clear off your driveway in the winter. Taking the idea of simplicity and applying it to the sentiments that surround this often tedious task, Patrick Kroetsch and Dominik Gmeiner worked together to reduce the form of this tool to two primary parts.

You will see that the Firn Snow Shovel is the union of a single bent blade and a straight wooden handle. The painted metal panel has a hole in it for the insertion of the stick and the two components are held together by just a pair of screws. Finally, the minimalist manual digger has a band wrapped around the timber tip to afford the user extra grip.
