Heart-Shaped Fig Packaging

Rizovoli's Fig Products are Marketed with Mirrored Heart Cut-Outs

The food packaging design for these fig products from Greek brand Rizovoli feature a girly "heart sandwich" cut-out. Designed by Costas Polatoglou, the branding is for a number of fig products, including sundried kimi figs, fig honey, fig jam and even a fig bar. The kimi figs are available in two sizes.

The Rizovoli logo is a hourglass-like heart, which when rotated horizontally resembles a the shape of a fresh fig. A seed pattern is also imprinted into the surface of the paper, paperboard and cardboard packaging material. The dessert boxes feature pastel colors that are subtly feminine. Costas Polatoglou described their strategy as offering "a contemporary image to the company and the products, avoiding to invest in nostalgic feelings or traditional elements."
