Actress Emma Watson Established an Online Feminist Book Club

As part of her involvement in the United Nations gender equality initiative HeForShe, Emma Watson recently launched an open feminist book club. The Harry Potter actress and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador created the group on book recommendation site Goodreads.

Just like her work with the UN, this new undertaking is meant not just to empower females everywhere, but to get men involved in the conversation as well. The feminist book club will feature one book a month and host open discussions online during the last week of the month. According to the group's description, Emma hopes to pose questions and post quotations to start things off. She also intends to introduce authors or "another prominent voice on the subject" to keep things academic and further stimulate meaningful dialogue between participants.
