This Fashion Musical is Inspired by Karl Lagerfeld and Coco Chanel

Karl Lagerfeld and Coco Chanel are sources of fashion inspiration around the globe, however they are now being sourced for fashion musicals. This designer-inspired play 'Platée' may not name the star roles as Karl and Chanel, but they are costumed in their staple attires.

'Platée' is actually based on the 18th century Jean-Philippe Rameau comic opera but has been re-worked to the likes of fashion's finest. The two stars of this 2014 edition are named Juno and Jupiter. Juno dons Lagerfeld's signature black suit, white ponytail and dark sunglasses, while Jupiter is completely dressed in Chanel tweed. The set even mimics the French fashion house headquarters.

The show premiered in Vienna last week, and will travel as a concert version to New York City’s Lincoln Center on April 2nd and will later be broadcast world-wide.
