Far-Off Galaxy Photography

Siri Kaur's Colorful Photographs Zoom in on Galaxies Far, Far Away

For six years, photographer Siri Kaur has been working tirelessly to capture photos of a far-off galaxy or two. After over half a decade, Kaur has finally succeeded, producing beautifully vibrant photographs depicting galaxies that can't even be seen with the naked eye.

Kaur used the super telescope at the Kitt Peak National Observatory to obtain these brilliant shots, driving 480 miles from her hometown 4-5 times a year just to use the observatory.

In the darkroom, Kaur applied chemicals to each shot to alter its colors, rendering the photos bright and bold, much like the captures taken from NASA's Hubble Telescope.

Kaur's use of technology to create art is indicative of the direction of creativity in the modern age. By demonstrating that beautiful pieces can be created using technology, Kaur has proven that art is not dying, but merely changing.
