Texan Restaurant-Focused Food Halls

The Fareground Food Hall Celebrates Local Austin Restaraunts

The Fareground food hall is finally open in Austin, officially bringing the trend to the Texas city. The food hall trend has seen steady growth over 2017 thanks to to the Hudson Yards Food Hall in Manhattan, La Centrale in Miami and the Portland Food Hall in Downtown Portland. The Fareground food hall builds on the principles of past food halls by embracing local restaurants in a way that is more convenient and more accessible.

The Fareground was designed by Michael Hsu and is located on the subterranean level on Congress Avenue. The building is fairly large with seating spread throughout the hall as well as on the outdoor patio and lawn area.

Several acclaimed restaurants will be featured in the food hall, including Dai Due Taqueria, Henbit, Contigo, Ni-Kome, Easy Tiger and Antonelli's Cheese Shop. While many of the restaurants will bring influence from their larger locations, those exhibited in the food hall will have menus more tailored to the grab-and-go nature of the Fareground. The Fareground food hall will also include a bar and is expected to house a second bar.
