Shu Uemura's Limited-Edition Stickers Create Digital Content

Shu Uemura created limited-edition stickers with micro NFC chips embedded in them so that they can be scanned and used to create digital content. These Shu Uemura stickers provide access to three interactive augmented reality filters, which can be used on Snapchat.

These NFC-enabled face stickers unlock augmented reality experiences featuring three themes inspired by Japan, camelia flowers, calligraphy and multi-color overlays. At the Viva Technology 2023 event in Paris, the brand showed an Rtfkt avatar wearing one of the stickers, which are poised to inspire boundless creativity in the digital community.

The L’Oréal cosmetics brand is also working with digital fashion brand Rtfkt to develop AR filters and digital makeup that can be used by avatars within Rtkft’s Clone X avatar ecosystem.
