The URI LED Lamps Are Constructed From Interlocking Flat Pieces

The URI etched lightbulbs by Hong-Kong creative Yat Ming provide consumers with a design developed using lasers to create the intricate and interlocking cages that enclose the light source. The lamps are made using several flat pieces that interlock into one another to create a detailed and geometric shade. The exterior of the bulb is so beautifully ornate that the bulb can stand alone as its own decor piece.

The bulbs take inspiration from incandescents utilizing the elongated shape and screw-in base popularized by the vintage light. However, the URI lightbulbs are much more intricate in style and make with flat white sheets that are laser-etched into sphered webs. When the pieces are locked into one another they create a three dimensional frame that surrounds the LED.
