Canadian McCafes are Introducing a New Espresso Bean Blend

With all the different types of drinks and preparation methods available in the coffee world, it's easy to forget about the beans themselves, but McDonald's Canada is keeping ingredients top of mind with its new espresso bean blend. The blend sources from new farms in Central and South America, and it also enters an entirely new territory for McCafe: the Indonesian archipelago.

The new espresso blend is part of McDonald's Canada's renewed effort to bring the best possible coffee to its McCafes. Along with the beans, McDonald's is also investing in state-of-the-art Swiss equipment for the over 1,200 McCafes across Canada.

The blend itself was developed by a team of espresso experts. They made their selection based on aroma, flavor, body, and taste, and then put that selection through the ringer by sending it to a series of tasting panels.
