The Esports World Cup Foundation has formally announced a structured framework for the inaugural Esports Nations Cup 2026. An application process has been initiated for organizations to become official National Team Partners. These entities will be responsible for forming and managing squads that will represent their respective countries or territories.
The Esports Nations Cup will be a biennial, nation-based international competition. As such, the venture differs from club-based events. Esports World Cup Foundation is also working on establishing the ENC Development Fund, to which it will commit "at least $20 million annually beginning with Esports Nations Cup 2026." In essence, the "purpose of the Esports World Cup Foundation is to elevate esports and make it sustainable," as noted by Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation.
