The Erwin Wurm 'Big Kastenmann' is an Aluminum Body

The Erwin Wurm 'Big Kastenmann' is a statue that is currently commissioned to grace the plaza of the Prominent Standard Hotel in New York.

When you hear 18-foot monstrosity, you might think Jolly Green Giant -- but this is not your typical packaging character, rather, it is a two-tone gray and pink sculpture that has human legs but a juice-box for an upper body. The aluminum casted rectangular torso wears a suit jacket which is dripping with pink, eventually meeting its silver airbrushed legs that are bare and humorous in appearance. The structure is a larger version of Wurm's 'Kastenmann' structure which debuted in 2010.

The statue is reminiscent of all the other silver-coated street statues in New York that ask for spare change in exchange for a photo-op -- only this one you can take pictures in front of for free.
