Fashion Label Environmental Commitments

The North Face Announces New Environmental Commitments

Just in time for Earth Day on April 22, popular fashion label The North Face announced new, actionable environmental commitments to leave the planet a better place for future generations.

Dubbed 'Exploration Without Compromise,' the new vision includes various steps including using recycled, regenerative or renewable top materials by 2025. The North Face will also accelerate the sustainability of 'Operations, Logistics and Packaging' by eliminating all single-use plastic packaging by 2025 and continuing to purchase carbon credits, and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions.

In addition, the label plans to launch fully circular apparel of converted franchise styles by Fall 2022 as well as having developed three specific initiatives designed to help combat waste and extend product life, including the Renewed Collection, Lifetime Warranty, and Clothes the Loop programs. Starting on earth Day, consumers will be able to send in their own, lightly used The North Face apparel to become part of the Renewed program.

Lastly, The North Face will act through its purchasing power. This includes identifying the brand’s most sustainable products online and in stores. This badge means the product must be made with 75% or greater recycled, organic, regenerative, and/or responsibly sourced renewable materials by weight.
