Kinetic Steampunk Cafes

The Enigma Cafe is Decorated in Moving Mechanic Artworks

The recently opened Enigma Cafe in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, claims to be the world's first-ever kinetic steampunk cafe.

Enigma Cafe has a low-key gothic aesthetic. Lit by the ambient yellow glow of retro light bulbs -- so comforting in this harsh LED world -- the bar feels like a hidden basement speakeasy. The Enigma cafe's decor, however, is unlike anything you would see in an antique bar. The walls of the cafe and bar are covered in cogs, metallic mechanics and wildly sparking electrical contraptions. A robot with a plasma lamp for a head rides a bicycle by the door. Everything is in a constant state of movement, spinning and working all around the bar's patrons. Enigma Cafe offers a truly immersive steampunk-themed experience.
