Elite Robots has launched RoboBarista — a fully autonomous coffee kiosk that uses collaborative robot technology to prepare and serve specialty beverages in high-traffic environments such as hotels, corporate offices, airports, and transit stations.
Elite Robots' RoboBarista system seeks to replicate many actions of a human barista. The robot innovation can grind beans, tamp espresso, steam milk, and even pour latte art such as swans or tulips, thanks to its dual-arm configuration. The unit can produce up to 60 cups per hour across a menu of more than ten options — ranging from standard espresso to iced lattes — and operators can choose between open or enclosed kiosk designs for indoor or outdoor placement.
An optional caramel jet printer adds a novel personalization feature, allowing customers to upload images from their smartphones and have those designs printed directly onto the foam of their drink.
