Personality-Injected Homeware

Delirious Home Electronic Home Products Debut at Milan Design Week

Making electronics a little more humane, a couple of design students have joined forces to design smart electronic home products with soul.

Unveiling their electronic home products recently at Milan Design Week 2014, ECAL's Bachelor of Industrial Design and Media & Interaction Design students are addressing the important issue of human-less electronic products.

The 'Delirious Home' project presents products with more tangible behaviors like Bonnie & Clyde by Romain Cazier, Anna Heck and Leon Laskowski, in which a teaspoon follows a cup around the table and the Mr Time clock by Léa Pereyre, Claire Pondard and Tom Zambaz that mimics the movement of the person in front of it.

"Technology has become smart but without a sense of humor, let alone quirky unexpected behavior," says the project's leaders Alain Bellet and Chris Kabel. "This lack of humanness became the starting point to imagine a home where reality takes a different turn, where objects behave in an uncanny way."
