15 Year Old Channels the Supernatural

Eleanor Hardwick is a fifteen-year-old gifted photographer and entrepreneur born in Oxford, England. Her life’s passion is photography.  "I love photography, because you can use the world that you have to create another world," she says.

Hardwick uses not only herself in her photos, but friends.  Dolls, balloons, blankets, benches and a host of other materials are used to capture surreal concepts, literature and everyday life.

The first photo is from Eleanor Hardwick’s "Suspended" series, called "Pull Yourself Together." The photo represents teens hung in place of bedroom curtains. Other photos in the series include teens on clotheslines and coat hooks.

Eleanor Hardwick’s "Art of Levitation", the second photo, is truly astonishing and other photographs in this series are gravity defying as well.  I love how she captured the vivid colors of nature, as well as her usage of a door.

"Ophelia is drowned" from Eleanor Hardwick’s "Literature" series is haunting--to me, anyway--yet I cannot help but keep looking at it.  "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" and "Alice in Wonderful" are two of more photos that captivate one’s mind in this series.

Lastly, Eleanor Hardwick’s "Gypsy" photo from her "Out of Place" series, truly captures the essence of homelessness by using furniture in the outdoors.

If you’re wondering how Eleanor is able to create in the way she does: "I do photography the same way as someone might fall asleep. It is just a natural thing I can’t help but do," she says.
